International Dot Day Activities
We kicked off our celebration of International Dot Day. The Dot is written and illustrated by Peter. H Reynolds. I love this book because it encourages to take on challenges and not to be afraid of making mistakes. Through practice, hard work and not giving up, we can grow our intelligence, talents and abilities. I use it to reinforce our development of a Growth Mindset

My heart is inspired by
- Jim Dine: considered an important contemporary artist who helped to create the Pop Art movement. He used different popular imagery in his art and hearts were a reoccurring theme.
- Pablo Picasso: famous for being the cofounder of Cubism. The subject in cubist art is broken into different blocks. The artist would look at the blocks from different angles. Then they would reconstruct the subject, painting the blocks from various viewpoints.
I created a different pattern in each section. Then I made a watercolor resist over the crayon.
